#4

This one keeps me laughing, on my toes, and praying
lots of "thank you, Lord, for this child."

She continues to love dance
and any jewelry (thank you, Aunt Lisa!)

New church shoes: this was her perfect outfit.

Family Fun Night 2013

I made the children participate again in "Family Fun Night."
The older three played a piano piece and Amelie recited a Mother
Goose Rhyme... they all did great.
It was a lovely evening and we were again amazed and thankful
for our talented church!

John has been leading the time before Sunday School
with the children.  They've been working on "Leaning
on the Everlasting Arms."   And you know my dear
husband has them all "leaning."  :)

Field Trip: Arboretum

We had a lovely field trip to the arboretum
last week.  We were thrilled to see so many signs
that spring is really here.

We're studying Botany this year and just
made Nature Journals, so I made them sketch
a few things.

Brothers

Peter is Charlie's "brother from another mother."
He asked if we could adopt Peter.

Downtown

A week ago we spent a lovely day in the city.
We've been studying American history, so it
definitely counted as a school day.

Dem just did a paper on Betsy Ross so we had to stop here.

Clearly, everyone was happy about it all. Not.

Normal faces for a picture?  What is that?

This ended up being one of my favorite stops.  A beautiful
building, excellent historian and so much history.
The girls sat in the Betsy Ross' pew most of the time...

Dad's Birthday

Mom and Dad came for their annual spring visit and this
year, it fell on Dad's birthday.   We had an amazing dinner
(thanks to John!) and a few small presents from the kids.

Charlie is all about Aaron Rodgers

Machen's gift was the paper he recently wrote for school
about his grandpa.  We all got some chuckles out of it...

The author.

Amelie was quick to offer her services blowing out the candles

Zoo trip

We had a lovely field trip a couple weeks ago to a small zoo
in our area.  The only bummer was it was FREEZING (literally
snowed while we were there).  However, the zoo did an amazing
presentation and the kids loved it.
