Machen's Birthday
Machen's 13th birthday was celebrated over a whole month.
It began with a joint celebration of his birthday and Grandma's.

Machen's ACTUAL birthday occurred while
we were on our Christmas trip.
His "big" birthday gift was a trip to the
Baseball Hall of Fame.

Christmas Break
For Christmas, we took all the Christmas money and headed down
to Great Wolf Lodge, a huge indoor waterpark a short walk
from your hotel room.

Mom's Birthday
Mom celebrated a big birthday on New Year's Eve.
Amelie insisted she was 16. So close...

Mom's "big gift" from her children was a collection of memories we'd rounded up
from friends and family. She was surprised and touched.
It was such a treat for my kids to hear how much she's impacted so many lives
and hear funny stories from various friends.

Right after Christmas, we had our
traditional "burn the tree" firepit.
Charlie's black eye was turning a lovely shade of green at this point...
