Blizzard 2016
John's 40 birthday gift was the blizzard of 2016!
We tried to play in this snow several times but it was too windy...
We opted for fried chicken and movies inside.
Today, we woke up to 30 degrees and sun.
A lovely day shoveling and lots of fort building!
And the gift keeps on giving: no school tomorrow!

Our sweet friends hosted a lovely surprise party for John.
It was two weeks early and my parents were in town so
he was completely surprised. :)

Machen's birthday began last night seeing the long awaited "Force Awakens."
It did not disappoint the birthday boy.

He requested pumpkin pie from Costco.
I did not argue.

New Year's Day
