Family Retreat 2014

Memorial Day weekend found us enjoying COPC's 5th annual

Family Retreat.  

We had a fabulous time, delicious food and encouraging teaching.

Sunday Arboretum

After church on Sunday, we enjoyed a picnic lunch at the arboretum.

It was a lovely day to spend a spring afternoon...

Their newest "exhibit" is birdhouses which we loved.

We always "pose" at the arboretum...

 

Baseball Season

Dem decided to give softball a try this spring and has thrived.

Charlie is on the Cardinals and despite being a Phillies fan, is okay with 

the Cards because they're World Series Champs.

He is also very serious.  

         But the best games and pitchers in town are in our side yard where "sand lot" games with the neighborhood are quickly becoming the norm.  I love it! We'll never have nice grass but it's worth every game.

                                      The newest player to join up is Amelie and she loves it.


                                          Charlie made a bench for bleachers or a dugout depending on the game.

Easter 2014

Saturday evening these lovely people (aka our "church grandparents")

came over for our annual Easter egg hunt. 

Diane loves Charlie so much she JUMPED to get this egg for him.  

He was clearly busy gathering more eggs.  

                                                   After a chaotic 10 minutes, the hunt was over and the
                                                    assessment of loot commenced.

Spring visit from Mom and Dad

Mom and Dad were here for their spring visit.

Of course, we they worked on the yard, planting 

bushes and trimming up those crazy raspberry plants.

We did let them take a break and went down by the Wissahickon River

for a lovely walk/hike on a beautiful spring day.

This cracked me up.  One cool teenager and one goofy brother.

After a very, very long winter, spring has finally come.  We're thrilled to leave the house without coats, see the grass and other sure signs that spring is indeed here!

Playdate

from church FINALLY happened.

We decorated cookies, played games and 

painted nails. 

But most of all these girls just wanted to 

PLAY together.
